Delmar, a native Minnesotan, grew up on his parents' farm near New Ulm in Southern Minnesota. Delmar and his two sisters received their education at Redwood County's School District #80. His farm boyhood and "hard work ethic" led Delmar into his own agricultural-based business, owning and operating several grain elevators from 1953 to 1978.

After selling his business, Del worked for two years for Midwest Commodities and 3 years for Dittrich Specialties, a refurbishing plant for 3M company. During this time Del also acquired his Minnesota real estate license preparing him for his future move to Northern Minnesota.

Delmar's love of the "Great Outdoors" led him and his wife, Dorothy to Park Rapids in 1983. They live on a country acreage near Potato Lake and enjoy entertaining friends in their new home. Del is an all around sportsman, hunting pheasants in South Dakota, big game in Wyoming and Montana and fishing in Canada. Del's wife, Dorothy recently retired from 3M's Wonewok Lodge, and along with Del, enjoys the annual fishing trips to Canadian waters.

To say Delmar "stays busy" is the understatement of a lifetime. He's up at the crack of dawn and is the first person into the office almost every day. His ability to tend to his client's needs and putting his customers first has earned him many years of recognition as one of our leading associates.
